Mechanical Engineering Department

The Technical Diploma Department was established in 1995 as a section of the Faculty of Engineering and Technical Studies and is now administratively affiliated with the Faculty of Human Development and, technically, to the Faculty of Engineering. The technical diploma curriculum in its two departments (Mechanical engineering and Food processing engineering) specializes in the study of specialized courses for each field in addition to the study of humanities and engineering sciences; it focuses on relating the theoretical aspect of the process through practical workshops, laboratories, graduation projects and scientific visits. Eventually, the Technical Diploma Department produces highly qualified graduates, in both theoretical and practical aspects, capable of technological innovation and development.
- To qualify students to perform installation, operation, maintenance and laboratory works.
- To offer the student the capabilities and skills required to technicians in the field of mechanical engineering and food processing engineering.
- To prepare qualified and competitive graduates in technical and developments fields.
Duration of Program:
The duration of the Technical Diploma program is three academic years. Each academic year consists of two semesters of fifteen weeks each. The general estimate of the acquired degree of technical diploma is calculated on the basis of the cumulative rate.
The College grants a Technical Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering after completing the approved or scheduled credit hours during the three years (142credit hours) and (135credit hours) in Food Processing Engineering.
