Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Sudan News Agency in addressing issues related to the national economy. The research employed the descriptive analytical method, utilizing both observation and an electronic questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of journalists specializing in economic affairs at newspapers and online platforms. The study yielded several key findings, most notably that SUNA addresses national economic issues with a high level of professionalism, utilizing various media forms, journalistic styles, and multimedia tools. It was observed that the agency primarily focused on development issues and currency replacement during the study period. Furthermore, the study confirmed that SUNA remains an essential source of official news for local, regional, and international media outlets. The study recommended allocating an adequate budget for the agency to effectively carry out its activities and improve its performance quality, as well as training and equipping its staff with the necessary tools and resources to enhance their professional output
