This study examines the contributions of national political forces in Sudan during the period 1940-1953
AD, focusing on their emergence, national role, and internal and external impact on the development of
national consciousness. The study aimed to highlight the role of these forces in the national movement
and clarify their relationship with identity and national belonging within the framework of resisting the
British colonial system. Sudanese political forces were influenced by global revolutions and proindependence parties, which contributed to awakening the Sudanese people and making them a primary
claimant to their rights. The study adopted the historical method to collect information from primary
sources and references and analyze it in its chronological context. The study concluded that the
independence and unionist parties, along with sectoral organizations such as student and labor
movements, formed an effective political fabric that led the country towards self-rule and independence,
despite occasional conflicts in their relations.
