The governors of White Nile and Central Darfur states witness the graduation ceremony of new cohorts from the medical colleges of Zalingei University in White Nile Stat

Lieutenant General Qamar al-Din Mohammed Fadl al-Mawla, Governor of White Nile State, and Commander Mustafa Nasr al-Din Tambour, Governor of Central Darfur State, today attended a ceremony at the Amasi Hall in Kosti,White Nile State, marking the graduation of a new cohort of 77 students from Zalingei University’s Faculties of Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health. The university is currently operating from temporary premises at Imam Al-Mahdi University in White Nile State.

The ceremony was attended by several members of the governments and security committees of the two states, along with executive and academic officials, including the presidents of Imam Al-Mahdi University and Bakht EL-Ruda University and a number of university administrators.

In his address, the Governor of Central Darfur affirmed the commitment of the state government, the Armed Forces, and supporting forces to clearing all parts of the state and its nine localities of rebel militia control. He directed that all graduates of the cohort be absorbed into the state’s civil service in order to strengthen the healthcare system with qualified and distinguished medical personnel. He also assured the people of Central Darfur that their return and resettlement were approaching.

The governor praised the exceptional efforts of White Nile State in providing support and care to refugees and internally displaced persons from the five Darfur states since the outbreak of the war. He also expressed his appreciation to Imam Al-Mahdi University for providing Zalingei University students with the opportunity to continue their education and graduate as qualified medical professionals.

He highlighted the strategic coordination and continued cooperation between the governments of Central Darfur and White Nile states in the fields of health, education, and agriculture, aimed at mitigating the effects of the conflict and supporting regional stability.
