This study aimed to reveal the most common spelling errors that researchers and scholars make, then classify and correct those errors. The study also revealed the causes of writing problems and suggested possible measures to address them in order to serve the language of the Holy Quran and spread correctness
To achieve these objectives, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: The most common spelling errors among researchers were in writing hamzas of different types, and mixing up hamzat al-wasl and hamzat al-qata’, followed by errors related to ta marbuta and ha marbuta, ta marbuta and open ta, in addition to errors in adding some letters or deleting some of them.
The research was divided into three sections. The first section dealt with the role and importance of spelling in Arabic writing. The second section shed light on the most common writing errors in writing scientific research. The
third and final section dealt with the causes and methods of treating common errors among writers and researchers.
