Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of digital immunization in university students’ awareness of and resistance to ideological extremism. The descriptive-analytical method was adopted, and an electronic questionnaire was used as the tool for data collection. The study population consisted of students from the College of Arabic Language at the University of the Holy Quran and Taseel of Sciences in Sudan in the year 2025. The sample was selected purposively, including all students of the college who responded by completing the questionnaire. Their number reached 112 students, representing 61% of the total study population. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program, and the results revealed that the level of digital immunization among students was achieved with a general mean of 3.404, a standard deviation of 1.395, and a relative weight of 68.18, with a high evaluative degree. Students’ awareness of ideological extremism and its manifestations was achieved with a general mean of 3.406, a standard deviation of 1.345, and a relative weight of 73.02, also with a high evaluative degree. Furthermore, students’ ability to resist ideological extremism was achieved with a general mean of 3.124, a standard deviation of 1.456, and a relative weight of 62.58, with a moderate evaluative degree. The study recommended intensifying digital immunization programs to develop students’ skills in critically engaging with digital content and combating fake news, as well as continuously enhancing awareness of extremism concepts by incorporating them into media content and student activities.
