FMLS was established in 1994 as a program of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences programs.  In 2017, it was upgraded to FMLS, it is located in Kosti, White Nile State, Sudan; the academic programs include undergraduate Honor Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following academic majors: Medical Microbiology, Parasitology and Medical Entomology, Histopathology and cytology, Hematology and Immunohematology, and Clinical Chemistry. The graduate programs include MSc and Ph.D. in the above academic majors.
