The Governor of the White Nile state, Dr. Abu-Algasim Al Amin Baraka has insured that education is the head of the spear in the creation of a civilized and modern society. The first meeting of the Council of El Imam Elmahdi University took place in the Customs Presidency Hall in Kosti on Saturday, 8/9/2018. The university council was hold with the presence of the President of the Council, Professor Ahmed Mohamed, Chairman of the Legislative Council, Mr. Ismail Nway, , Rector of the university, Prof. Nur Al-Daem Osman Mohamed, Minister of Finance, Economy and Manpower, Eng. Abdulgader Al-Khair Abdullah, The Locality Commissioner, Professor Al-Jazuali Hashim Al-Jazuali, Undersecretary of El Imam Elmahdi University, Dr. Mutasim Siddiq, Members of the Council, Deans of Colleges and Directors of University Council Members.
Baraka has mentioned that the universities in the States are the first consultant to the state government in planning various projects. The White Nile State Governor has pointed out that the revolution of higher education adopted by the Government has achieved a significant expansion in higher education and has provided education to all citizens of Sudan. He has even appreciated and considered the efforts of the administrations of universities in the White Nile State to stabilize the institutions of higher education in the state. Moreover, Baraka has insured the support and sponsoring for all activities and projects of the Sudanese universities in the state. He has even promised to complete the project of buildings the Chamber of Shariaa and Law in Aljazeera Aba. He encouraged the scientific knowledge exchange and expertise competencies of the university. He even granted seats to those who contribute to the university in the Council of Ministers and involve them in specialized advisory councils.
President of El Imam Elmahdi University Council, Professor Ahmed Mohammed Ali "Fashashoya” in his part has invited to take advantage of the university in the enforcement of development and service projects that achieve the renaissance of the White Nile citizen as the universities represent the most important leading institutions in this field. The President of the University Council has pointed to the strategic location of the White Nile State and the great comparative advantages in the field of agricultural and livestock production, which enables it to play a major role in rising the economy in the country, especially after the completion of the road network connecting the White Nile state and neighboring countries. He added that the White Nile state has promised a major development leap through services and development projects that are currently being implemented.
Professor Nur, Al-Daem, expressed his gratitude to the state government and University Council for their continuous support to the university's plans and programs, noting the role that El Imam Elmahdi University has played towards the state community in all social, economical and national issues.
The meeting discussed the performance report of the University and the budget of the year 2018. The council members have discussed the performance report of the university, the academic stability experienced during the previous period and the implementation of all recommendations of the previous meeting.
