One of the features of this era is the scientific planning to keep up with the change that has become a landmark in human activity in all its areas and hence clearly highlights the importance of investment in education in order to provide professional frameworks and competencies with the educational field.  University of Al Imam Elmahdi  as an educational  institution, it has always endeavored to provide all that is needed in the field of knowledge and to complement its scientific and cultural mission, it established and developed the education college in the city of Kosti with a view to complementing its scientific and cultural mission and seeking to spread knowledge and prepare the teacher of tomorrow to be scientifically proficient and work in the field of education at the secondary and foundation levels of the scientific, literal and preschool education, particularly, in the White Nile State  and generally in Sudan. Its programs include bachelor of education honor degree for secondary education, bachelor of education honor degree for primary education and bachelor of education for preschool and private education.
Reasons for college establishment:
1. The location of the city of Kosti is a crossroad connecting all parts of the country.
2. To eliminate the shortage of primary and secondary schoolteachers in Sudan in general and the White Nile State in particular.
3. To contribute to the service, development and development of the state community through the activities of the college of education, education and research.
4. To contribute to the rehabilitation and training of workers in the primary and secondary education fields.
5. The absence of the school of education in the cities of the south region of the White Nile State
6. To increase the number of basic and secondary schools in the south of the state.
